We got engaged here!

This is a very romantic cabin on the banks of the yellowstone river. I brought my girlfriend here - it was her first time visit to Yellowstone park. This home just is amazing and unbelievable. There is a fire pit on the back yard by the bank of the river. The decor in the home is a mix of modern rustic. The views are phenomenal. Its a 40 minute drive to Gardiner. Chico Hot springs is 8 minutes drive. My GF and I had dinner at the Tasting Room in Chico and then I proposed at the back of the property by the bank of the river. I had arranged about 600 tea lights popping the question to her. The flat backyard towards the river was idea for that. The part of the backyard by the hot tub is a bit of a steep slope which added drastic charm to this property. It was a very romantic experience for us. The hot tub was excellent. The house can easily accommodate 4 adults and 2 kids etc. Its a great house for a big family. Staff was very nice and gave us very good directions to get to the property. At night - you can see millions of stars in the sky. So bring your binoculars too. Probably the best cabin I have stayed at.

Manager's Response

Well Raj and Anastasia, this may be the very best review of one of our homes - ever! It makes us so happy to know that the home made a perfect setting for your proposal and engagement. Congratulations! We hope that you'll be back to Montana and to Yellowstone again soon. Honeymoon? (hint, hint) - Mountain Home Team

Our family has traveled all over the globe - and I can honestly say this was BY FAR one of the best trips we've ever taken as a family - and this home contributed to that. We decided to come to Montana and visit Yellowstone for our Thanksgiving break. When we arrived the home was decorated to the nines in Christmas décor. We have three small kids (8 and under), and after travelling 14 hours on 2 planes, coming home to this was magical. It made us all so happy! The home was even better than pictures online. It was clean, well taken care of and the overall layout was perfect for our week in MT. The beds were comfortable, the showers were always nice and hot, the fireplace was a MUST with the cold windy days and the hot tub was amazing! And the views from every window took our breath away. We also say wildlife all day everyday during our stay. We saw bald eagles almost daily, flying past the back porch, huge mule deer by the dozens (right in the front/backyard), and a ton of black-billed magpies. Definitely bring your binoculars! The neighborhood was quiet, the neighbors (when we saw them) were respectful and friendly and always waved. We went to Chico Hot Springs for a soak - the kids loved it! Yellowstone North Entrance is only a 45 min drive south, too. If you want to experience Montana like a local, be surrounded by amazing views and see wildlife daily, staying here is a MUST! We will remember our trip and this beautiful home forever.

This house was absolutely perfect for our family of four on our first trip West to visit Yellowstone! We visited the park (30 minute drive) each day except for the day we spent at Chico Springs (15 minute drive , highly recommended)! The house offered a perfect and peaceful resting place after hiking and allowed us each to re-charge in our own spaces! Super-clean and very comfortable! The house was well-stocked with well-functioning amenities; when we checked in the outside temperature was over 100 degrees, but the AC units and fans kept the house comfortable with shades drawn; we were grateful for the washing machine; dishwasher and two types of coffee makers; everything we needed was easy to find; we only regret that we didn’t use the hot tub more (due to weather and schedule)—-it was quite lovely! My only one criticism is that there was no direction or container for recycling!! Everthing else was absolutely perfect and we would definitely return here in a heartbeat, but please consider being eco-friendly and adding a recycling bin! Thanks for a fabulous and memorable stay!

This house was perfect for our last minute vacation. The house had everything we needed and more. The kitchen was very well stocked with cooking utensils, spices coffee, and more for cooking at home. We made lots of fires, enjoyed the hot tub and the views! They are incredible. It was easy to get there from bozeman and also easy to get to Yellowstone. There are a few lodges with very good restaurants that are very close. Mountain Home was also extremely awesome to work with. We will definitely use them again when we come back!

It certainly exceeded our expectations: the view; the decorations, the jacuzzi, the game room, the hi-end appliances, the comfortable beds, wood provided for the fireplace, location on the river, referral to a great fishing guide. We've never stayed at such a great place! It was difficult to have to leave.

Manager's Response

Our goal at Mountain Home is to make our customers wish they don't have to leave . We are happy that we exceeded your expectations and hope you think of us for you next Montana vacation. -MHteam

This house is fantastic! It was the perfect cozy spot for our getaway. When we weren't exploring Yellowstone or the other cute towns in the area, we spent entire days just lazing around the house, watching the river flow by, making meals in the well-stocked kitchen, andof coursesoaking in the hot tub under the stars. The views are unbeatable, and the remote location helps you feel like you're really getting away from it all. The house is super-cute, the beds are comfortable, and it's packed with amenities. Our only quibbles are so tiny, I think they show how great this house is: the upstairs bedroom is pretty small and doesn't have shelves/dressers, and the smoke detector and the toaster did not get along. But that's really it. We loved this place, and we'd come back in a heartbeat! It's the perfect spot for getting off the grid and living well.

Manager's Response

Wow Jonathan, it sounds like you had an amazing vacation. We're so happy that Chicory on the Yellowstone was a good fit for you and that you enjoyed all the amenities of the home. Thank you for being our guests and please come back soon. -The crew at Mountain Home P.S. We'll look into that pesky smoke detector. Thanks for the heads-up.

My husband, mom, step-dad and I had a wonderful time at the house!! The views from all rooms in the house are AMAZING!!!! Directions to the location were easy to follow and there was plenty of room for the four of us to stretch out and relax. Kitchen supplies / cookware was beyond our expectations. The only thing you will need to get is groceries. We throughly enjoyed our stay and my husband and I will hopefully be making another trip there next year.

Manager's Response

Hello Carrie - We're thrilled to hear that you enjoyed Chicory on the Yellowstone as much as you did. It is indeed a great home with special amenities. We hope that you'll come stay with us again, either at Chicory or at another of the homes and cabins that we care for. - Mountain Home Team

We found this to be a perfect home for us to explore Yellowstone National Park from. The location and view are outstanding. Two mornings we actually had a deer or two literally walking on the deck. Mountain homes attention to detail is outstanding, from the overall cleanliness to a new sponge for the kitchen. Use of the garage was an unexpected bonus. Fireplace was great for the zero degree nights but the home stayed comfortable even without it going. We hope to return.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit at Chicory on the Yellowstone! Although its in a neighborhood, it is very private snd secluded. The location was perfect, the views were stunning, and the house was extremely comfortable. The home has everything you need: plenty of towels, blankets, hair dryers, laundry (with detergent) and the kitchen came stocked with all the essentials like spices, oils, and plenty of pots/dishes, etc. Complimentary Bear Spray was an added bonus. We would definitely love to come back to this home as soon as we get the opportunity!

Manager's Response

Amanda, thank you so much for your review and kind words! Chicory is absolutely an amazing property and we are so glad you enjoyed all of the amenities! We are also hoping the bear spray wasn't necessary this trip. :) See you again soon! - Mountain Home Staff
