Extraordinary and Lovely Getaway - Best Ever

If there is one place I’d like to return, this is it. The house is cozy, welcoming and I’ve never seen a kitchen so well appointed. Waking up to my coffee with sweet horses in the front yard, while we watched osprey parents teach their youngster to hunt in the back around the Yellowstone River, was magical. The mountains are a presence, standing watch over the property. The owner invited us to a Sunday get-together around the campfire over at his house. How amazing. We left him some fresh-baked sourdough when we left. The location is perfect - between Yellowstone NP entrance and Livingston. We did a great loop around the Beartooth Highway and saw amazing views. The peace conveyed by sitting on the sun porch, watching the river go by, was just amazing. If you want a perfect getaway, this is it.

360 degrees of beautiful views!

Beautiful cabin on beautiful property! The Yellowstone River is a stone’s throw from the back steps…literally! Big, picture windows frame the living room, dining room and sun porch area giving you beautiful views of the mountains and the river. House had everything we needed, The A/C was nice, especially since we arrived during a heat wave! Not many cabins have this option. Bring bug spray during the summer….that’s just part of the ecosystem! We didn’t have much luck fishing. The property caretaker has great information about the area, from prime fishing spots to bear sightings…however, we found out about this on our last evening. Paradise Valley is a beautiful area, and it was nice being away from the crowds and the noise. Great vacation spot in Montana! Thanks for sharing your home!

Awesome home on the Yellowstone River. Great location, 40 minutes to Yellowstone national park, 1 hour to Bozeman, 20 minutes to Livingston. Emigrant is the greatest town. Great food and drink. After a day to sit in the living room and look out at Emigrant peak is amazing. I'll be back.

Pictures & description do not do it justice!!!

Family reunion representing IN, TX & CA. Couldn't be happier with the accommodations. Beautiful surroundings and the house had absolutely anything and everything to make your stay comfortable. Loved the floor plan and the fact that you were not right on top of any neighbors. The caretaker lives at the front of the property and was most gracious and welcoming. Takes about 40 minutes to get into Yellowstone from the house but, that was okay as this sure beat any hotel! (plan to be at the Yellowstone gate when they open to avoid long lines to get in) Plenty of room for everyone to stretch out and a nice yard for the small kids to play in. There is a large grocery about 20 minutes away and a small convenience store with gas a few miles up the road. The house and scenery really does look like what is posted and does not do this place justice. Only thing I would say in warning is that the river behind the house has a very fast current so you would want to be cautious with small children or pets. We like to rock hunt and found several interesting pieces along the bank. The horses in the pasture were beautiful and enjoyable to watch. The place was spotlessly clean and was as well stocked as my own home. Loved that it has internet access and a washer and dryer. Wish we could have stayed longer. While there, I looked around at some of the other places we could have rented and quickly concluded that I had made the right decision by booking River Rose. The reservation staff was exceptional, as well. Be sure to go to the little bakery in Emigrant early to get fresh, made from scratch goodies! It was a looong drive for all of us but River Rose made it worth the trip!

The house has the most beautiful views. The river was awesome and saw plenty of wildlife while we were there. The kitchen is perfect for making family dinners and gathering around the table. The home is centrally located (close to the entrance to Yellowstone)! Would definitely recommend staying here with a family.

George and Karen were awesome! Had it not been for them, our vacation would not have been as successful and robust, as were the 3 days we spent here!

We had a fantastic few days at River Rose. Beautiful house in a beautiful location. We had Osprey nesting across the river and right outside the window and we enjoyed watching people go by in their little fishing boats. We visited Yellowstone from here, had an interesting evening at Chico Hot Springs and ate at The Old Saloon in Emigrant who served excellent food.

Manager's Response

Hello Christine - It sounds like you packed a LOT into your few days at River Rose and in the Paradise Valley. Good for you! Thank you for being our guests and we hope that you'll be able to come back soon. - Suzy

We have been spending a week in the Paradise Valley almost every summer for over ten years. We normally rent a different cabin each year through the good folks at Mountain Home, and for us, River Rose was the best. It will be our first "repeat" booking of the same cabin. If we owned it I couldn't think of anything I would change,

Manager's Response

Hi John - What a wonderful commentary on River Rose. We're so glad that you discovered it and that you'll be coming back for another stay there. We look forward to it! Thank you again for being our guests year after year. We truly appreciate you! - Suzy

Our experience with Mountain Home and the River Rose was like none other. The setting is set in the beautiful Absaroka Mtn. Range. The graceful Yellowstone River at your feet. Green horse pastures with a new born Colt. The cabin unlike any other with its graceful style and simplicity. Cleans and roomy for a whole family, yet cozy for a couple. Seated between Yellowstone and Livingston, the opportunity for beauty and shopping was abundant. Many nights spent just gazing into the foothills of the sun drenched mountains. The River Rose is definitely a vacation not soon forgotten.

Manager's Response

Spencer, thank you for the kind review of River Rose! We are so glad you and your family enjoyed your stay. - Emily
