Description

Just 8 miles from West Yellowstone's entrance to Yellowstone National Park.
Stunning views of Lionhead Mountain and surrounding peaks.
Walk to Forest Service trails or make a short drive to Hebgen Lake and to fishing on area rivers.
The lodge offers satellite internet access with 25 mps down and 5 mps up.
This home has a 5 night minimum during the summer season.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: West of West Lodge is a great base camp for exploring the Yellowstone area. It’s just 8 miles to the park entrance, is surrounded by national forest trails for hiking, mountain biking, and snow mobiling and it’s a short drive to a quiet cove on Hebgen Lake. With 2,400 square feet of living space, an open floor plan on the main level, and an additional family room upstairs, it’s a comfortable home for a large group.

BEDROOMS/BATHROOMS: The lodge has four bedrooms and three baths. The main level has one bedroom with a queen size bed. There is a full bath with a large walk-in shower adjacent to this bedroom and both are wheel chair accessible. The upper level has three bedrooms, one with a king size bed, one with a queen and the third with two twins. The king bedroom has an en suite full bath with tub/shower combination. The other two bedrooms share a full bath, also with a tub/shower combo. For a bit of extra sleeping space, the upstairs TV room has a fold out queen sofa bed and the there is a queen sofa bed in the living room. All bedrooms have iPod docks.

KITCHEN/DINING: This is a great kitchen for a crowd as it opens to the bar, the dining area, and the living room. It’s equipped with all stainless appliances, a smooth top electric range, tons of serving and picnic ware, and lots of small appliance extras like a crock pot, electric mixer and blender. The large dining table seats ten comfortably and the bar accommodates another three. There’s also plenty of seating for enjoying outdoor meals out on the covered porch.

LIVING ROOMS: The cozy living room has a gas fireplace, a flat screen HD Smart TV with satellite service, an iPod dock and comfy leather seating. Double French doors open to the covered porch with additional seating for cocktail hour! The upper level has a family room where your crew can do puzzles, play games or watch TV and movies after a day of exploring.

SETTING: West of West Lodge is in a woodsy vacation home neighborhood about 8 miles from West Yellowstone, which is the West entrance to Yellowstone National Park. It sits on one half acre and enjoys incredible views of Lionhead Mountain and other peaks along the Continental Divide. You’re likely to see elk and moose in this beautiful wild area!

OUTDOOR AMENITIES: Decks on three sides of the house provide room for enjoying coffee in the morning sunshine and then sunset over the mountains. Once a little lawn area grows in, you can host a Rocky Mountain rough terrain bocce ball tournament off the south deck.

TOWN/AIRPORT: You are 8 miles from the town of West Yellowstone, 90 miles from Bozeman’s Gallatin Field Airport, and 110 miles from Idaho Falls, Idaho.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: In winter, you can snowmobile right from the house and get onto hundreds of miles of groomed snowmobile trails. If you prefer Nordic skiing, West Yellowstone’s Rendezvous Trails are a short drive away and you can explore Yellowstone Park by snow coach. In summer, there’s hiking and mountain biking right out the door, fishing on blue ribbon streams, boating on Hebgen Lake, and of course day trips into Yellowstone Park.

West Of West is a wonderful and beautifully decorated mountain house close to West Yellowstone with easy access to the park. Our family of 6 felt welcomed from the first minute we arrived. The home is located in a quiet neighborhood outside of West Yellowstone within a serene setting. Our hosts thought of everything that we possibly would need. The kitchen is the best equipped kitchen we ever had in a rental home. Thank you for making cooking a fun experience. We loved the big dining table and enjoyed some quiet evenings outside on the porch. We didn’t miss a thing and appreciated arriving to a clean and spotless home. Without any hesitation we recommend this vacation home. It comfortable sleeps 8 guests and provides amble space to enjoy each other’s company. We especially loved the decor of the house that clearly emphasizes its mountain setting, but isn’t overloaded with wooden rustic feature. You can’t go wrong with West Of West!

The home is lovely and the location was ideal for our much anticipated family vacation. Nice woodsy setting but still convenient to the park and town and other activities like horseback riding in the Gallatin forest (Diamond P ranch), fly fishing and hiking nearby. The kitchen was nice and well stocked. We spent time outside enjoying nature from the large deck highlighted by a moose and her calf trotting through the yard one evening. I highly recommend West of West!

The house was perfect for us. Everyone enjoyed the comfort the house provided and looked forward to coming home to our home away from home. It was well stocked and clean. The location was great for going into the park daily, grocery shopping and dinning. Enjoyed watching the mother bird fed her babies, the wildflowers and wildlife.

Our stay in West if West was so enjoyable and comfortable. Our group of six adults found it very spacious but also cozy. The gas fireplace made it easy to take the chill off and add ambience. The porch was wonderful and perfect for coffee in the morning and watching stars at night. The kitchen was full of every cooking item you would ever need, including a fully stocked spice cabinet. There was plenty of space in the kitchen for several people to cook. Lots of storage for your own groceries. Great mud room and laundry. Bedrooms were pretty and beds comfy. House was very clean and well kept. We rent homes for our vacations all the time and this was one of the nicest rentals we've had. The homeowner even called us the day of check-in to see if we had questions or needed anything. We all enjoyed this home and highly recommend it!

This vacation home was perfect for our 5 day stay of 8 persons, grandparents to grandchildren, without being on top of each other. The grandchildren loved their upstairs "private" activity area. Very quiet and serene surroundings amongst the quaking aspens, and an easy 10 minute drive into West Yellowstone. The home was absolutely clean, and beautifully appointed. We have stayed in many rentals and none had a kitchen so well equipped and with so many provisions included; very easy to make whatever meals you wish. We had one issue arise with the dishwasher that was promptly resolved. We would highly recommend.

We sadly had to miss one of our nights at this place, due to car trouble. The time we spent there was the most wonderful stay. The home includes a fireplace, grill, toys for the kids, lit up relaxing patio, washer/dryer and anything else you could possibly need, even bear spray should you need it. We will be back if we can make it out that way again. Thank you for having us and making our stay so pleasant!

My family and I enjoyed the home. Very well labeled. Had everything to cook dinners and meals for the kiddos. Very quiet and even enjoyed sledding next door without having to go too far from the house. Would certainly return again if/when traveling back to the area.

Wonderful mountain respite in the fresh air surrounded by Aspens. This custom home is beautifully furnished with your every need. The owner called to check on us and helped make our stay even more lovely . The king bed is very comfortable and the kitchen has absolutely everything you could need. The space is large and the furniture very relaxing. The porch and grill made our first day exceptionally delightful as we could sit out and enjoy so comfortably. The easy access into the park is perfect. Highly recommend this wonderful property.

Three Couples had plenty of space in this lovely mountain home. Very close to Yellowstone National Park. Furnished and supplied with everything you need. Responded quickly to an heating issue we had ib a couple of rooms upstairs. Very pleasant to deal wit. Highy recommend.

Our party of 7 stayed for 3 nights. The home was very spacious and immaculately clean.. The home was completely stocked with everything you might need. It is only 7 miles to Yellowstone National Park. We would highly recommend West of West.

Snowmobile group weekend

We were a group of three couples meeting to enjoy snowmobiling in West Yellowstone, MT. The house was perfect for our gathering! The kitchen was fully stocked including pots and pans, dishes, glasses, and everything we needed to enjoy our time together. We cooked a huge breakfast in the morning before snowmobiling and enjoyed the warm fireplace when we got back late that evening. Everyone commented on how comfortable their beds were. The bathrooms were all first class. Don't miss this spot, it is beautiful!

What a beautiful home! Took the family here for our Yellowstone vacation and could not be happier with Mountain Home. The house was clean, it had everything a family would need for a week-long stay... TVs, games, books, everything you need to cook your own meals, etc. The location is perfect, just a few miles from West Yellowstone so just a quick drive to the park every day. Very happy with our stay.

Such a beautiful place to stay. We traveled with our best friends and neighbors and their little girl who is 3. We brought our 4 year old lab, Raider and our 15 moth old daughter. We had such a special time playing in the snow and exploring Yellowstone. The house was the perfect home base and super comfy for our crowd. Thanks so much! Can't wait to come back

Really smart choice for a group or families. 4 comfortable bedrooms and large common area made it a smart choice. So much better than a motel. Easy to find. Locked key box made getting in quick and easy. Very competent management company. Full kitchen.. would stay here again.

Big home, great for families. Clean and every amenity you could imagine. Warm, welcoming, clean and everything done right. Very close to West Yellowstone shopping and the West Gate.

Six of us stayed very comfortably in this property. Loved the very easy to operate fire in the evening. Property very well equipped and clean. One small problem we did find the mattress on the bed next to the tv room rather firm (hard) but solved it by placing spare duvet and blanket on mattress but first night rather difficult. Everything else very comfortable and of good quality.

Absolutely gorgeous, well-kept home. Beautiful secluded location. Comfy chairs, couches, and beds. Well stocked kitchen with utensils, pots/pans, and amenities. Large deck for wildlife watching (we didn't see any here but heard the Elk!). Easy access to West Yellowstone (10 min drive) and entrance to Yellowstone West Gate. The house is a perfect launching point for multi-day Yellowstone adventures. Our family would definitely stay here again!

WoW met all our expectations. The space was perfect for our two families to both be together and be separate. It is close enough to YNP that days trips were easy. We plan to visit it again with our other son's family.
