Description

*Kindly note that Sagebrush Cabin shares the property with three additional cabins: Canyon Vista Cabin, Creekside Cabin, and Fisher Cabin. It's an ideal arrangement for booking multiple cabins together, making it perfect for larger families or gatherings. Although Canyon Vista is situated separately from the other three cabins, it is still part of the same property.*

Sagebrush Cabin is a new log cabin getaway secluded in a forested mountain canyon in the Crazy Mountains of southwestern Montana. Big Timber creek is close to the property and can be a good spot for fishing in certain times of the year! Watch the sun set over the Crazy Mountains up the canyon from the floor to ceiling picture windows. Sip your coffee outside or from the living room with mountain views as you watch wildlife in their natural habitat.

Dogs are considered with owner approval and a fee. Please inform us at the time of booking of the number and age/weight/breed of the dog(s) you are planning to bring.

BRIEF DESCRIPTION: Sagebrush Cabin is the ultimate mountain getaway with amazing views of the Crazies, wildlife, and ease of access to the Big Timber Creek; all on 160 acres of land. Enjoy all the comforts of home (plus a hot tub!) while experiencing everything Montana's wild country has to offer. World-class hiking is just down the road at the Half Moon trailhead, offering trails to sparkling mountain lakes at the bases of the highest peaks in the range. This is also a wildlife-rich area; you might wake up to a moose looking through your window!

BEDROOMS/BATHS: There is one bedroom with a queen bed. The living room, while open to the kitchen, can be closed off to make a second bedroom. The futons fold down into two twin-size beds. The bathroom is an ADA accessible bath. Two extra twin mattresses are available to sleep additional guests.

KITCHEN/DINING: This open and functional kitchen has everything you need with stainless steel appliances such as: fridge, stove, oven, dishwasher, and microwave along with all of the essential utensils, pots, and pans for cooking a delicious meal. The custom dining table seats 6 comfortably.

LIVING ROOM: Windows on every wall bring in tons of natural light and let you see everything that makes this location truly special. Enjoy views of the Crazies while taking in the warmth of the infrared fireplace. There is a 44" Smart TV that allows you to use your personal streaming accounts after a long day in the woods. There is a window A/C unit available in the summer.

TOWN/AIRPORT: The cabin is located approximately 20 miles northwest of Big Timber. The nearest commercial airports are 90 miles to Bozeman International Airport or 102 miles to Billings-Logan International Airport.

NEARBY ACTIVITIES: The possibilities are endless! There is approximately 2 miles of winding trail, 5-foot wide, through the forest and brush on the property available summer and winter (snowshoes provided). Fishing is nearby on Big Timber Creek. Private land surrounds the majority of this cold mountain stream, making it nearly untouched by the droves of anglers that flock to the Yellowstone region. Excellent hiking into the lake-studded high country of the Crazies is just 4 miles down the road. The quaint small town of Big Timber is 20 miles away with restaurants and shopping. Last but not least, simply relax and unwind on the porch taking in the sounds of the creek and the incredible dark, starry skies.

Absolutely Amazing

All I have to say is , absolutely amazing! This was a special trip for my gf and I. I spent weeks searching for the perfect place in Montana and I could not be happier with my decision. I have been to places all over the world and this cabin in Big Timber tops anywhere I have ever been. When first pulling in, after driving down the dirt remote road into the mountains we knew it was going to special. The cabin and views were stunning. The first night we were visited by a small black bear while sitting in the jacuzzi, which was awesome, followed by waking up to deer grazing in the morning. A few miles back from the cabin we enjoyed the hikes in the Gallatin Forest, Crazy Mountains, and specifically Big Timber Falls, which turned out to be the perfect place for me to propose to my gf, and now fiancé (she said yes!). The hikes and surrounding areas are truly stunning. This place was everything to us and we will definitely be returning. If you’re struggling with where stay in Montana, don’t look anywhere else, I highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.

We loved our stay! Beautiful cabin, with gorgeous views. Very clean (looks brand new), 30 minutes from town (takes that long because of the dirt roads), secluded and very close to hiking trails. We should have stayed longer! 5 stars!

This cabin has everything including great views, a coffee and tea bar, comfy beds for 6, a large spacious bathroom and an entry ramp making it fully accessible for our mobility challenged friend. I also love that we can bring our 3 families here for time together and each have our own beautiful cabin.
