From the booking process to check out this was simply an amazing experience. The cabin itself is just spectacular and sits right on the Yellowstone River! It’s well equipped, beds are great and you need! 40 minutes to north Yellowstone entrance and a beautiful drive. Rent this cabin, you’ll thank us later!

This cabin was perfect for our trip to Yellowstone. We had two couples and there was plenty of space to spread out. The place was clean and we'll stocked.. The hot tub was amazing at night. We loved walking down to the river and saw deer, eagles and a fox from the backyard. The cabin was about a 35-40 minute drive to the north entrance of Yellowstone, but it's a very scenic drive. We loved Emigrant, they had a cute bakery and great pizza place. We would definitely stay here again!

Cabin was wonderful. Our stay could not have gone better and we will definitely book again as we come to MT minimum of two times a year.Only issue encountered was previous visitor trash (outside containers) had not been removed. This was not noticed until we tried to place our trash outside after second day of stay. Did not contact anyone, just tried our best to stuff all trash in containers. Note to self... always check outside trash receptacles upon arrival. :)

We stayed at the Yellowstone Lookout Cabin for 6 days. The cabin was clean, beautifully decorated, and in a perfect location. We had 4 adults and 3 kids so the size of the cabin was just right, with extra room to spare. It was centrally located between Livingston and Gardiner and the North Entrance of Yellowstone. You are basically between 2 mountain ranges in a beautiful valley with a river right out your back porch! Lots of wildlife visited the area while we were there. Keep a lookout for baby bunnies in the window wells! (We rescued them!) All in all, while the footprint of the house seems small, there is plenty of room for the whole family! We enjoyed the quiet of the main livingroom while the kids loved venturing from the loft to the downstairs family room. The back covered porch is truly the best part!! We will stay here again if we come to Montana again!

Great Cabin On The River

Great location on the river for fishing, etc. The living area was somewhat smaller than we imagined. The kitchen was clean and adequate for our simple meals. The beds were very comfortable which is the most important feature, to us, when traveling. The weather was warm and there is no air conditioning and only 1 fan so, I would recommend asking for another fan for the downstairs bedroom. The porch and spa were wonderful and the spa is drained and cleaned every week. The highway is across the river and there was a little traffic noise but overall, very nice! We would recommend it for couples and small families! Mt Homes was very easy to work with!

Manager's Response

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay. A house in Montana without air conditioning and just a fan is quite common because 80% of the time, nobody needs one. In the end though we know you had a good time and are happy that you did.-MHteam

This is a great cabin, managed by a wonderful company. Very reasonable for the beautiful views! Close proximity to the river and Chico Hot Springs. The hot tub was amazing evening activity after a long day. Plenty of comfortable room for a large group. We loved the fact there was recycling and a washer/dryer! Can't think of one negative! Already thinking of planning our next getaway!

Manager's Response

Hi Lex - Thank you for your super positive words about your stay at Yellowstone Lookout Cabin! And we are here and ready to help plan the next getaway. - Suzy

Great home with lots of separate living spaces. Two very nice bathrooms. Very comfortable furniture and felt very cozy. well maintained. A bit of a drive (about 40 minutes) from Gardiner, MT- so if your destination is Yellowstone, you'll need to be okay w/driving.

Hi Cindy - Thanks for being our guests and we're so happy that you enjoyed your stay. - Suzy

This is a very well appointed, comfortable home. We stayed here for two weeks and really did not want to leave. We enjoyed the deer and bunnies right outside our door....the views were wonderful and the hot tub just great. Its about 20 miles to Livingston and about 30 to Yellowstone (north)...but the speed limit is 80!!! There are other houses around, but the noise was minimal. We'd go back in a heartbeat.Mountain Home personnel was very easy to work with. Our cleaning lady Ellen was very nice. It was pet friendly and ideal for our little dog to wander about.

Manager's Response

Hello Judi - Thanks for your kind words about Ellen and our office staff, and we are so happy to hear that you enjoyed your weeks at Yellowstone Lookout Cabin. We hope that you do come back again soon! - Suzy

Loved the house and location but would have been nice if a kayak or fishing gear was included. However, house and location were terrific. About 35 minutes from Yellowstone!

Manager's Response

Hi Tammy - I'm glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Yellowstone Lookout Cabin and that you appreciated that location. And I love your ideas about kayaks and fishing gear for guests. Kayaks we are not able to provide (darn insurance!) but I will pass the fishing gear idea along to the homeowners. Thanks for being our guests and we hope that you come stay again. - Suzy

This is a great family friendly cabin with a wonderful hot tub on the Yellowstone River. It was perfect for our getaway and one of the nicer log cabin homes that we have rented. The area is very quiet and beautiful. There is a path through the willows to the river which is easily accessible for fishing. Every detail in the cabin is well thought out and easy for guests to use and enjoy.

Manager's Response

Hi Renee - It's great to hear that you liked your stay at Yellowstone Lookout Cabin so much. The owners and Mountain Home do try to make it as homey and well equipped as can be for our guests. Thank you for your business and we hope you'll stay with us again sometime. - Suzy

Arrived Livingston in middle of snow storm and was guided by a young lady on the phone from Mountain Homes, who was very patient and accurate. Arrived at cottage but no number on post, so had to guess and guessed right. We got out of the snow and into a large well appointed yet snug cottage with all amenities you could ask for. Spent 4 days there, going to Yellowstone which is about an hour away.

Manager's Response

Hello "Macque2014" - You had a great Montana adventure to start your vacation! And we're so happy that you found the cabin to be welcoming and cozy afterwards. Thank you for being our guests. - Suzy
